Independent chartered insurance intermediary Clear Group has accelerated efforts to expand its Risk Management division with the acquisition of specialist fire safety and compliance consultancy Delco Safety Limited.
Surrey-based Delco provides services including fire risk assessments, compliance consultancy and safety inspections for a client base that spans councils, local authorities and commercial property owners.
The firm’s 19-strong staff, including a team of fire safety specialists, has built numerous longstanding client relationships, providing scheduled inspections, compliance reviews and maintenance advice in a niche yet increasingly important market.
Demand for fire safety and compliance services has soared following the introduction of new legislation, namely the Building Safety Act introduced in 2022 in reaction to the Grenfell Tower fire in 2017.
These regulations have significantly increased the regulatory scrutiny trained on building owners and property managers. As a result, expertise like Delco’s compliance and risk assessment offering has become highly sought after.
The deal reflects Clear Group’s efforts to bolster its risk management service offering by integrating advisory services alongside insurance solutions. The combination of Delco’s capabilities with the group’s broking offering will mean that Clear Group can offer clients a package that features both tailored insurance programmes to mitigate major risks, along with compliance expertise to address regulatory obligations.
