Independent insurance intermediary Clear Group has acquired Leeds-based insurance business Gauntlet. Founded in 1994, Gauntlet has developed into a specialist commercial insurance broker and national broker network.
Gauntlet Appointed Representative Network (AR) and Gauntlet Retail Brokers will now join Clear Group’s network community for growth orientated insurance brokers, Brokerbility.
The Gauntlet AR Network is a principal for appointed representative insurance brokers, assuming full regulatory responsibility on behalf of its members. The business has developed a strong reputation for its support of local and niche brokers. It offers its members market access, a broking platform, online quote-and-buy functionality and etrade systems to help facilitate their growth.
Gauntlet initially joined the Brokerbility network in 2023, with the acquisition representing the culmination of this partnership. Following the transaction, Gauntlet founder Roger Gaunt will remain with the combined business, aiding in the development of Brokerbility’s AR proposition, focusing especially on expanding membership and supporting entrepreneurial brokers.
The Brokerbility network helps member businesses to gain a competitive advantage by providing access to proprietary insurance products, advanced data analytics, enhanced placement and a training academy.
