Apollo Cloud, a communication technology business headquartered in Yorkshire, has completed its first acquisition with a deal for Harrogate-based telecoms products and services provider Xi Communications.
Xi Communications, which provides its products and services to SMEs in Yorkshire, has been led by Martin Taylor and Tony Mellor since 2014. Following the acquisition, Taylor and Mellor will become area directors at Apollo Cloud, ensuring that the firm’s 160 customers continue to be served by the same teams.
Jonathan Marsden, CEO and co-founder of Apollo Cloud, which launched in 2022, said that the deal united two strong companies and would provide Xi Communications’ customer base with access to a broader range of solutions and support.
Marsden said that Xi Communications has “a reputation for excellent service and a loyal customer base” and that together the two companies would “accelerate innovation for next-generation communications, stronger resilience and a larger team of specialists to support growth and productivity.”
He continued: "We are combining scale with continuity. Xi Communications customers will continue to be served by the same trusted team, with Apollo Cloud’s national footprint, certified engineering capability, expanded service portfolio and enhanced support capacity behind them."
Xi Communications director Martin Taylor said: “Apollo Cloud shares our service-first ethos, and our customers will gain the best of both worlds. They keep the personal service they value and gain seamless access to new solutions across telephony, Microsoft Teams integration, business mobiles and internet connectivity.”
Taylor added that he was confident the transaction would “unlock fresh investment, faster project delivery and a wider range of expertise for every customer we support."
GS Verde Group advised Apollo Cloud on the transaction, while Xi Communications was advised by Harrowells.
