A Kent-based designer and manufacturer of fencing is set to be acquired by a national construction materials distributor in a deal worth a total of £19.9 million. BRCK, formerly Brickability has agreed a deal to acquire Ashford-headquartered H.S. Jackson & Son.
H.S. Jackson & Son was founded in 1947 and supplies timber and steel fencing, gates and perimeter security systems to residential, commercial, industrial and high-security clients. In addition to its headquarters in Kent, the company also has sites near Bath and Chester, while its Autogate Systems business operates from Bolton.
In the year to September 30 2025, the company reported revenue of approximately £40.9 million and EBITDA of around £4.2 million, with the total consideration for the acquisition representing an EBITDA multiple of approximately 4.7x.
The deal will see the company join BRCK, which has head offices in Bridgend, Wales and Bracknell, Berkshire. The acquisition is comprised of an initial £15 million consideration, with an additional payment of £4.9 million due on completion, in respect of the company’s land and property.
Frank Hanna, Chief Executive of BRCK, commented: "Jacksons is a quality business with a premium positioning and an impressive track record of product development.”
"It benefits from a broad customer base and product offering across a range of markets including major government infrastructure projects. The acquisition is in line with our diversification strategy and brings considerable growth opportunities, including an exciting pipeline of potential infrastructure projects.”
Peter Jackson, Managing Director of Jacksons, added: "During three generations as a family firm, we have grown Jacksons to annual sales of more than £40m.”
"I look forward to driving the next stage of Jacksons' growth as part of BRCK, which is the ideal custodian for the Jacksons brand owing to a shared commitment to product quality and customers. Together we will be able to leverage the growth opportunities in the premium fencing market."
