Estate agency group Davis Tate has added its ninth branch with the acquisition of a Wantage-based firm. The acquisition of Paul Pieri Estate Agents adds to Davis Tate’s established presence in the Oxfordshire town, with the firm having been operating in the region for over 35 years.
The acquisition came after owner Paul Pieri decided to sell, having built the estate agency into a successful and locally respected business. Following the acquisition, the team at Paul Pieri Estate Agents will remain in place.
Davis Tate Sales Director Joe Lucas said that the deal would enable the firm to re-establish a physical presence in Wantage and described Paul Pieri Estate Agents as a business with strong local roots that the group would seek to build on.
He continued: "By bringing the Wantage office into the Davis Tate network, we believe the business will be further strengthened by the support of the other eight branches across Oxfordshire and Berkshire."
The deal was supported by Davis Tate’s franchise partner LSL Estate Agency Franchising, and represents the fourth acquisition that LSL has facilitated for its franchise partners so far this year.
LSL Franchise Director Kate Ashley-Ives commented: "We are delighted that Davis Tate has successfully acquired Paul Pieri Estate Agents and extend a welcome to the landlords joining Davis Tate.”
"I look forward to working with the team at Davis Tate to acquire further lettings agencies in the area as they look to continue their expansion."
Seven of Davis Tate’s eight existing branches are owned by Southern Homemove, a franchise partner of LSL Estate Agency Franchising. Southern Homemove also operates the Goodfellows and Hawes & Co. estate agency brands, which have offices across Surrey and South West London.
The acquisition of Paul Pieri Estate Agents is Southern Homemove’s second, with the firm actively exploring further M&A opportunities. The deal comes amid continuing consolidation in the UK’s estate agency sector, which remains highly fragmented.
