A high-dispensing pharmacy in Dorset has been acquired by the operator of a site in Devon. Peter Boakye’s purchase of Queens Park Pharmacy in Bournemouth marks his second pharmacy acquisition, adding to Lynton Pharmacy in Devon.
Queens Park Pharmacy is located in a prominent position on Holdenhurst Road, a busy Bournemouth through road, in the residential suburb of Springbourne.
The pharmacy dispenses an average of 12,700 items per month and provides a wide range of NHS and private services, including home delivery for prescriptions, the Pharmacy First Scheme, contraception services and extended vaccination provision.
Queens Park Pharmacy has been owned by Rajesh Kerai for more than 22 years. Kerai decided to sell in order to spend more time with his family, engaging specialist business property adviser Christie & Co to market the site.
Following a confidential sale process with Christie & Co Director - Head of Pharmacy Jonathan Board, the pharmacy was acquired by Peter Boakye for an undisclosed sum.
Rajesh Kerai, the former owner of Queens Park Pharmacy, commented: “Christie & Co was able to introduce a number of potential buyers with greatly different plans for the business. With their help and advice, we were able to choose a buyer who shared my vision for the future of the pharmacy. I am absolutely delighted to have sold my business and couldn’t be happier with who has taken it on and am sure they will make a success of it going forward.”
