Digital commerce agency Glass Atlas has announced the acquisition of a consultancy specialising in retail and e-commerce. The acquisition of Summit expands Glass Atlas’ offering, while taking its combined revenues to £22 million and group headcount to around 240.
Hull-based Summit, which was founded in 1999, is a performance marketing and e-commerce consultancy. The firm works with clients throughout the full lifecycle of e-commerce strategies, from planning to execution and optimisation.
The company’s proprietary platform Productcaster, which is included in the acquisition, supports in excess of 500 brands and powers more than 15 billion shopping clicks per year.
Productcaster, a comparison shopping services (CSS) platform, plays a key role in how retailers manage and optimise product data across their digital channels. The platform has strong adoption across a number of European markets and supports a broad client base, including IKEA, Levi’s, Wickes, Tommee Tippee, Silentnight and Arco.
The acquisition marks the latest step in Manchester-headquartered Glass Atlas’ growth journey after the firm secured investment from Foresight Group. The deal follows its previous acquisitions of Brave the Skies, Bring Digital and This is Digital.
Glass Atlas Chief Executive Jon Woodall said that Summit was a business “built on strong fundamentals”, including a “clear specialism in retail, long-standing client relationships, and a great track record of delivery.”
Woodall continued: "Productcaster adds an important layer of proprietary technology. As performance marketing becomes increasingly data and automation-driven, having that capability in-house is critical to how we support clients across their broader commerce strategy.”
"This acquisition strengthens the platform and positions us well for the next phase of growth."
Martin Corcoran, Chief Executive at Summit and Productcaster, said that joining Glass Atlas would put the company in a strong position to continue its growth, providing access to broader capabilities and technology.
He continued: "Productcaster has developed into a scaled platform supporting a large number of retailers across Europe. Being part of Glass Atlas provides the opportunity to continue investing in the product and extending its reach."
