Lettings and property management group Dwelly has acquired Cheltenham-based Move in its sixth acquisition of 2026 so far. The acquisition adds approximately 1,100 fully managed properties across three branches to the group’s network, significantly strengthening its presence across Cheltenham and the wider South West.
Post-acquisition, Move founder George Tatham-Losh will step back from the business, with Verity Howes stepping into the role of Managing Director in order to lead the company through the next phase of growth under Dwelly.
George Tatham-Losh commented: "As the industry continues to evolve, it became increasingly important to find a partner that could help take the business forward whilst protecting the culture and reputation we’ve worked so hard to build.”
"Dwelly’s approach to acquisitions really aligned with that thinking. Their focus on empowering local agencies through better operational support and technology, rather than removing what makes them successful, gave me a huge amount of confidence about the future direction of the business.”
Sam Humphreys, head of M&A at Dwelly, said: “As our acquisition activity has accelerated this year, we’ve remained incredibly focused on the type of businesses we want to partner with.”
"Move stood out because it’s a business with deep local roots, a strong culture and a team that genuinely understands its market. Those qualities are incredibly difficult to build and they’re exactly what we value most when looking at acquisitions.”
The deal follows a string of acquisitions completed by Dwelly in the UK’s lettings market this year. The group is focused on acquiring established independent agencies with strong reputations within their local markets.
According to Dwelly, its acquisition strategy sets it apart from many of the sector’s larger consolidators, by enabling acquired agencies to continue to provide their existing local services and maintain longstanding relationships, while benefiting from the improved technology and streamlined operational processes offered by the group.
Sam Humphreys continued: "Our approach is about helping already successful agencies operate even more effectively by improving the infrastructure behind the scenes.”
"Through technology and AI-led systems, we’re able to remove much of the manual admin and operational friction that slows teams down, allowing them to spend more time focused on service, relationships and growth.”
