4Secure, an East Midlands-based cybersecurity software specialist, has been acquired by Swedish group Systematic Growth. 4Secure develops software designed for organisations operating in security-critical and highly regulated environments.
The company has been acquired by Systematic Growth via its Elvirian business, which provides specialised IT and OT security services, protecting critical infrastructure, networks and industrial systems.. Post-acquisition, 4Secure will continue to operate under its existing brand, with the firm’s current management team remaining in place.
4Secure Chief Executive Jon Barlow said: "Joining Elvirian marks an exciting new chapter for 4Secure. We've built our reputation on delivering trusted, cybersecurity solutions to some of the UK's most demanding organisations and becoming part of Elvirian gives us the opportunity to accelerate that journey.”

Elvirian director Parsa Lalehzar said that 4Secure was “an outstanding addition” to the group, adding: “Their expertise in cross domain solutions addresses one of the most demanding challenges in cybersecurity: enabling secure information exchange across environments with different security classifications. It is a capability that is increasingly critical for defence, government, and operators of critical infrastructure.”
He continued: "Beyond their technical capabilities, we have been equally impressed by the people behind 4Secure. We see a strong cultural fit and look forward to building on their success together."
Gowling WLG's Corporate advised Systematic Growth, a longstanding client on the deal, with a team led by corporate partner Ragi Singh, supported by associates Rory Chatterton and Raphaella Bojouri (corporate), Elizabeth Williams (defence sector lead) Kate Featherstone (tax partner), Sam Beighton (NSIA partner) and Sam Holland (W&I partner).
Lalehzar described the team as the group’s “go to”, due to being “pragmatic, responsive and understand[ing] our deal structure inside out.”
He added: "On this transaction what really came to the fore was Gowling WLG’s understanding of the cyber and defence sectors including defence sector regulations, HM Government, NSIA considerations and its specialist warranty and indemnity insurance team. This allowed them to find a way to get the deal done regardless of the difficulty of the issue before them."
