EG On The Move, a UK petrol station, convenience store and fast-food service operator, has expanded its national footprint with the acquisition of an independent petrol forecourt operator with close to 30 sites. The value of the deal was not disclosed, but reports indicate that it was in the region of £50 million.
Leicestershire-headquartered MPK Garages Limited comprises a portfolio of 27 petrol station forecourt sites, predominantly located in the Midlands. The majority of the company’s sites are freehold and operate under the Texaco, Gulf and Valero fuel brands, with Nisa-branded retail stores.
In its latest accounts, for the year ending December 31 2024, MPK Garages Limited reported turnover of £113.3 million, down from £120.5 million a year earlier, while operating profit dropped from £2.6 million to £1.9 million.
The acquisition brings EG On The Move’s UK network to nearly 200 sites and significantly expands the company’s presence in the Midlands. EG On The Move is ranked at the UK’s third largest independent forecourt operator, according to Forecourt Trader's Top 50 Indies 2026 ranking, while MPK is ranked thirteenth.
In an increasingly competitive environment for investment in the UK’s roadside assets market, the acquisition means EG On The Move is well positioned to target further consolidation, with the company saying it provides it with a “strong platform for investment”.
The group added that it plans to use the forecourts to strengthen its EV charging and food-to-go offerings, while also widening the base of its EG OTM Fuel Card.
Describing the acquisition as “another important step in our UK growth strategy”, EG On The Move Chief Executive Zuber Issa called MPK Garages Limited “a highly respected petrol forecourt operator with a strong regional presence in the Midlands."
MPK Garages Chief Executive Wayne Harrand said: "Since 2018, MPK has invested in its people and its portfolio. It is fitting that our new owner has the same philosophy and is well-positioned to enhance the customer offer on the MPK sites acquired, and be able to deliver long-term customer value and financial performance across the combined network."
The deal follows the recent approval of EG On The Move’s accounts for the year ending December 31 2025, in which the company reported EBITDA of £52 million on revenues of more than £1 billion.
