Ipsum Group, a provider of specialist engineering services to the UK’s water and power sectors, has acquired a liquid waste management business. CountyClean Group is headquartered in Eastbourne, East Sussex and operates a waste treatment and recycling facility in Surrey.
CountyClean, which was founded in 2007, employs over 40 staff across three locations and has a fleet of 23 commercial vehicles working across both household and commercial liquid waste. Joining Chorley-based Ipsum Group will provide the firm’s customers with access to a wider range of engineering, design and consultancy services covering power, controls and automation, and water.
The deal builds on Ipsum’s June 2025 acquisition of London-based plumbing, pump repair and drainage business Aquaflow Drainage Services.
Andrew Cowan, Chief Executive at Ipsum Group, commented: "This partnership reinforces our commitment to developing resilient and future-ready infrastructure networks across the UK. We remain focused on delivering growth, both organically and through strategic acquisitions, creating long-term value for our customers and communities.”
Cowan added that the deal would enable the two firms to “enhance our service capabilities, expand our operations in the South, and strengthen our ability to deliver true end-to-end solutions nationwide.”
Mike Walker, who co-founded CountyClean with his wife Debbie Walker, said: "This acquisition is a testament to that and the continuous drive and hard work of our people. Becoming a specialist business within Ipsum Group marks an exciting step in our growth journey."
Debbie Walker, Director, Company Secretary and Owner at CountyClean Group, added: “This partnership brings together two businesses that share the same commitment to service excellence, innovation, and safety.”
“By combining our expertise, we are not only strengthening our offering but also creating new opportunities for our teams and customers alike.”
