A national provider of building safety and regulatory compliance services has expanded with the acquisition of an escalator and travellator installation and maintenance company based in Kent.
Complii’s acquisition of Rochester-based The Escalator Company forms part of the group’s buy-and-build growth strategy and will see the company join its dedicated lifts and escalators division, bolstering its capacity to provide end-to-end lift and escalator compliance services.
Founded as a family company in 2002, The Escalator Company brings more than two decades of experience and a strong reputation for engineering services into the group.
According to Complii, The Escalator Company’s focus on refurbishment and upgrade over replacement aligns with its own commitment to providing clients with practical, cost-effective compliance solutions.
Following the acquisition, Complii now offers a full suite of services covering planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs, new installations, full refurbishment and the supply of spare parts.
The deal follows Complii’s recent acquisition of Scotland-based Classic Lifts, which introduced lifts and escalators as a new compliance services line, complementing its wider portfolio of water, air, fire and electrical services.
Sarah Dixon, Chief Executive of Complii, said: "The Escalator Company is an outstanding business with deep technical expertise, a highly skilled team, and a philosophy built around doing right by their customers – all qualities that make them a strong fit for Complii.”
Kelly Barber, Managing Director of The Escalator Company, commented: "Joining Complii gives The Escalator Company access to greater resources and reach while allowing the business to continue operating with the same commitment to craftsmanship, safety and customer service that has defined it since 2002.”
"The shared focus on compliance and quality made Complii a compelling partner, and our team is looking forward to being part of something bigger."
