Wed, 17 Dec 2025 | BUSINESS SALE
An event first aid specialist that works on high-profile events and has had a number of major clients has been acquired out of administration. ShowMed Limited fell into administration earlier this month amid sustained cashflow pressures, primarily linked to its tax liabilities and HMRC rejecting a proposed company voluntary arrangement.
Gareth Wilcox and Louise Williams of Opus Restructuring were appointed as joint administrators of the company on December 9 2025. Following an accelerated marketing process, the business and assets of the company were subsequently sold to a connected party on the same day as the appointment.
The joint administrators said that the sale secured the transfer of all employees, with no redundancies made, and preserved the business as a going concern.
Northamptonshire-based ShowMed has been operating since 2000, establishing itself as a prominent name in the provision of healthcare for major musical events. The company has worked in partnership with SJM Productions, providing medical infrastructure on greenfield sites for a range of acts, with notable events including Oasis at Heaton Park in 2009, catering for 75,000 people per day, and Muse at The National Bowl in 2023, for 50,000 people daily.
In addition, the company’s services have also been used by the cast and crew of television shows including Mastermind and Dragons’ Den. Its wider list of clients has included Manchester United Football Club, Manchester City FC, Coventry City FC, Live Nation, Newbury Racecourse and Bath Racecourse.
In accounts covering the year to March 31 2025, during which time the company employed an average of 77 staff, ShowMed Limited's fixed assets were valued at around £70,000 and current assets at approximately £195,000. The company’s liabilities at the time, however, totalled nearly £60,000.
