A Kent-headquartered industrial services group that secured private equity backing last year has completed its fifth acquisition within 12 months with a deal for a water pumping services provider.
Metcor Group Limited, which received investment from Macquarie Capital in 2025, has acquired High Wycombe-based Direct Pump Services (DPS) for an undisclosed sum.
Established in 2009, DPS provides clean water and wastewater pumping services across the UK. The company’s services span installation, maintenance and repairs, as well as emergency support.
DPS founder Mike Shaw described the deal as a new chapter for the firm, adding that joining Metcor aligns with the company’s “values and commitment to quality service delivery.”
He continued: “We’re confident this partnership will strengthen our offering and create new opportunities for our customers and, in turn, their clients.”
Headquartered in Gravesend, Metcor Group has additional sites in Kempston, Maidenhead, Leigh, Rainham and Greater Manchester. The group provides a range of technical solutions for the built environment, with a portfolio covering pumps, electrical and environmental divisions.
The group’s services include maintenance, repairs and upgrades for multiple sectors, serving commercial and industrial facilities including offices, factories, energy plants, warehouses, fulfilment centres and shopping centres.
Metcor received strategic investment from Macquarie Capital in April 2025, to accelerate its growth through both M&A and organic expansion. Since then, it has completed a number of acquisitions, including Stockport-based Drainage Consultants Limited and Rainham firm Technical Drain Solutions Limited.
In accounts for the year to March 31 2025, shortly before the Macquarie investment was announced, the group reported turnover of £25.6 million, up from £20.7 million the previous year, while operating profit increased from £1.4 million to £1.8 million.
