Kiril Mischeff, a Nottinghamshire-based supplier to the food and beverage manufacturing, foodservice and retail sectors, has acquired major food manufacturer and processor Primepak Foods.
East Yorkshire-based Primepak Foods specialises in processing cheese and cooked meats, as well as the manufacture of sandwich fillers for retail, delicatessen and foodservice, both under its own Wolds Edge brand and private label.
Kiril Mischeff Group Managing Director Dimiter Mirchev described Primepak Foods as “a family-owned and run business that offers synergies with our existing products and services offering”, adding that the acquisition would enable Kiril Mischeff to “expand and develop its offering”.
Kiril Mischeff was advised on the deal by Affinia and Schofield Sweeney, while Primepak Foods was advised by DSW Corporate Finance, Bradbury and Co Accountants and Wilkin Chapman Rollits.
Michael Cantwell, partner in Schofield Sweeney's Corporate team, commented: "We have worked with Kiril Mischeff for almost a decade now across a number of exciting acquisitions.”
"This particular acquisition is a great example of the broad scope of expertise Schofield Sweeney offers to clients, covering environmental, real estate and corporate challenges to ensure the best outcomes for all parties."
Roger Esler, a partner at DSW who led the Corporate Finance team on the transaction, said that Primepak Foods was “a robust, second generation business”. He added that a “cultural fit with a buyer has been a very important part of the process” and that Kiril Mischeff “provided excellent alignment, both culturally and synergistically."
In the year to December 31 2024, Primepak Foods Limited reported turnover of around £17 million, up from approximately £16 million a year earlier, while operating profits rose from £1.3 million to around £1.6 million.
In accounts for the year to September 30 2024, Kiril Mischeff Limited reported turnover of around £194 million, up from approximately £180 million a year earlier, while operating profits increased from £6.3 million to around £7.1 million.
