Low Energy Services Limited, a solar panel installation company based in Glasgow, has been acquired by Good Energy Group. KBS Corporate Deal Executive Sean Clarkson advised on the transaction.
Founded in 2018 by Jason Lowey, Low Energy Services Limited works on solar installations and battery storage systems for commercial and industrial customers. Since its founding, the company has established itself as one of the largest installers across Scotland and parts of northern England.
The acquisition represents Good Energy Group’s fifth in the last 18 months, following the Wiltshire-headquartered group’s purchases of Empower Energy, Amelio Solar, Wessex Eco Energy and JPS Renewable Energy.
The deal enables Good Energy Group to enter the Scottish market, while marking the next step in its strategy to rapidly scale its services following its own takeover by UAE-headquartered smart grid technology company Esyasoft.
Good Energy Group Chief Executive Nigel Pocklington said that the deal, the group’s first as a private business, represented “an important step in our ambition to significantly scale Good Energy’s operations nationwide.”
He continued: “Low Energy already has a strong and established presence across Scotland and northern England, and by bringing the business under the Good Energy brand, we can provide the financial backing and support needed to accelerate growth.”
Pocklington said that Good Energy had been providing customers in England with commercial solar installation services for a number of years, with the acquisition of Low Energy Services enabling the group to expand this offering into Scotland.
He added: "Businesses are increasingly recognising that the commercial rationale for installing solar is strong, even before you consider the benefits of carbon reduction. With energy costs remaining high, businesses and organisations with rooftop real estate can achieve excellent returns on investment."
Jason Lowey, director at Low Energy Services, said: “Working as part of Good Energy Group strengthens our offering, giving our existing clients and partners access to greater scale, while enabling us to deliver even more impactful solutions for new customers across the UK from our base in Scotland.”
