A group of three day nurseries located in London and Berkshire has been acquired by a large national operator after its husband-and-wife owners decided to sell. The Learn Well Group, which offers up to a combined 129 places, has been acquired by growing operator Bright Stars Nursery Group.
The Learn Well Group comprises The Little Tug Boat day nursery in Fulham, Greygates Day Nursery in Muswell Hill and Chartam House in Maidenhead. Each of the nurseries in the group operates from converted residential properties.
The group was founded by Amy Shah and Adam Smith in 2015 through the acquisition of The Little Tug Boat day nursery. It has since expanded steadily, acquiring Greygates Nursery in 2019 and Chartam House in 2023.
Shah and Smith subsequently decided to sell the business in order to focus on other ventures and family. The sale process was overseen by Christie & Co property adviser Sophie Willcox.
In a statement, Shah and Smith said: "Our vision has always been to create warm, nurturing nursery environments where children can flourish, supported by outstanding teams and a strong educational ethos.”
"With the business positioned for future growth, we feel this is the right time to focus on our family and hand over to Bright Stars to build on the strong foundations we have created.”
