Global insurance group Howden has made its first entrance into North Wales with the acquisition of Llandudno-based general insurance broker Gott & Wynne Limited. Led by Barry Wynne, Michael Clough, and Steven Goldsmith, Gott & Wynne provides insurance solutions for Morgan sports cars and classic cars, as well as business, commercial and property insurance.
Following the acquisition, the current leadership team will remain with the business. Directors Wynne, Clough, and Goldsmith said that the deal would enable the company to deliver greater value to its clients.
The Gott & Wynne directors stated: “By joining Howden, with its extensive presence across South Wales, alongside its global network, Gott & Wynne will be positioned to provide greater value to our clients through enhanced solutions and capabilities.”
Kelly Ogley, CEO of Howden Consumer and Local Commercial, commented on the acquisition: “Having built a full-service insurance broker that is unrivalled in its quality in South Wales, the addition of Gott & Wynne is a significant step forward in growing our business in the north of the country.”
Ogley continued: “Gott & Wynne and Howden are a strong cultural fit, with shared values for our clients, our people, and the local communities we serve.”
The deal continues a period of acquisitive growth for Howden, which has recently made several acquisitions in the entertainment insurance space, with deals including UK-based performing arts broker Hencilla Canworth, Spain-based entertainment broker Boni Aldaya and German film and entertainment broker Franz Gossler.
Further afield, the group recently agreed the acquisition of Gravitas Insurance Agency LLC, an LA-based brokerage specialising in contingency insurance for music, sport and live events. The deal reflected the group’s broader strategy of increasing its presence in the US, which is the world’s largest insurance market.
As the UK broker market becomes increasingly consolidated, specialist firms are becoming highly sought after targets for buyers
This South West-based practice, available for the first time, offers a strong-quality client base predominantly consisting of limited companies, with average annual fees surpassing £3,000.
This South East UK-based practice, presents a remarkable opportunity to acquire a well-established business with long-standing client and staff relationships, promising continuity and stability.
This highly profitable IFA in Buckinghamshire boasts an impressive EBITDA margin, making it a compelling opportunity for acquisition.
