Tailormade Moves, an estate agent based in Inverness, has acquired Scottish Highland Property Services (SHP). The acquisition boosts Tailormade Moves’ portfolio by 200 properties and comes following the retirement of SHP owner Ewen Smith.
The acquisition will see three SHP staff members join the Tailormade Moves team. Aside from SHP rebranding as Tailormade Moves, the company’s services will not be altered and there will be no changes for either tenants or landlords.
Ewen Smith (pictured above, middle) said that he had decided to retire after 40 years in the property industry and 33 years leading SHP.
He continued: “Like SHP, Tailormade Moves are a locally owned, independent firm, not a franchise or part of a national group, and I chose them specifically for their shared values, commitment to customer service and strong local connections. I wanted to ensure that my staff had a business to go to and that all my clients received the great same service.”
The acquisition almost doubles Tailormade Moves’ letting offering across Inverness and Ross-shire, while the addition of the SHP team members will help to facilitate a smooth transition for clients, as well as bringing greater lettings experience and expertise into the business.
Karine MacRae-Simpson, director of Tailormade Moves, said that it had taken the company 12 years to surpass 200 managed properties and that the firm had been exploring the possibility of expanding through an acquisition for some time, adding that the addition of SHP had enabled it to double its portfolio.
She continued: "The business will remain the same for tenants and all the landlords. SHP’s values aligned with ours in terms of customer service and we are delighted to welcome Liz, Lorraine and John into the team at Tailormade Moves.”
