A HR consultancy based in Leicester has expanded its footprint with the acquisition of a counterpart based in Wales. Impact HR Consulting’s acquisition of EffectiveHRM adds a Cardiff base to the firm’s existing locations in Leicester, Leeds and Essex.
EffectiveHRM was founded in 2011 by employment lawyer Emma del Torto (pictured above, right, with Impact HR CEO Greg Guilford) and now supports more than 150 SMEs across a number of sectors. Post-acquisition, the company will continue to operate under its existing brand as part of the wider group of Impact HR companies.
Emma del Torto said that joining Impact HR would enable the firm to accelerate its growth and broaden its offering to clients, while continuing to provide “practical, high-quality advice”.
According to del Torto, there is a clear alignment between the two businesses, especially in terms of their culture, values and their approach to client relationships.
The acquisition will see del Torto join the Impact HR leadership team, bringing extensive expertise in HR strategy, employment law and business growth. EffectiveHRM’s wider 12-strong team will also join the group.
Calling the acquisition “an important step in our continued expansion”, Impact HR Consulting Chief Executive Greg Guilford said that the deal would expand the group’s geographic footprint, while “further strengthening our ability to support SMEs across the UK, building a national HR advisory business that combines local expertise with scale.”
He continued: "Acquiring EffectiveHRM strengthens our capability in a key region and brings a team that shares our straightforward, commercially focused approach. We see significant opportunity to continue building our presence across the UK through a combination of organic growth and targeted acquisitions.”
Guilford said that the addition of Emma del Torto’s “experience, insight and approach to HR” to Impact HR’s leadership team would be a “huge asset” as the group continues to grow.
