Whale Tankers Limited, a West Midlands-based manufacturer of liquid waste vacuum tankers and jetting equipment, has been acquired by European group Kaiser AG. Whale Tankers is based in Solihull, with additional operations in India.
Founded in 1969, Whale Tankers employs more than 600 employees across its operations, with 330 staff at its Solihull base and a further 300 at its site in Coimbatore, India. In 2025, the business reportedly generated turnover of £83 million, up from £59.7 million in its accounts for 2024.
Lichtenstein-based Kaiser, a manufacturer of sewer cleaning and industrial waste management vehicles and systems, said that the acquisition of Whale Tankers would strengthen its global market leadership. The deal is seen as a major milestone in the group’s long-term growth strategy, reinforcing its global presence in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Australia and the USA.
Following the acquisition, Kaiser says its plans to further develop the firm’s locations and teams in both the UK and India as part of its international production and engineering network, describing the deal as a long-term commitment.
Markus Kaiser, Chief Executive and owner of Kaiser Group, said that the acquisition was “about reinforcing local entrepreneurship while unlocking global opportunities.”
Kaiser continued: "From a technological and market perspective, the integration of Whale Tankers forms the world's broadest and most technologically advanced product portfolio in sewer cleaning vehicles, without compromising regional proximity to customers.”
"The combined portfolio strengthens the entire Kaiser Group and generates new opportunities for all our locations and teams across Europe, the USA and Australia.”
He added that the deal would also enhance Kaiser Group’s “resilience in an increasingly volatile geopolitical environment by further diversifying production capabilities, supply chains and regional market access."
Acquisitions of UK companies by overseas buyers was the dominant UK M&A trend during 2025 and is expected to continue driving activity in 2026
