UK-headquartered facilities management firm Mitie Group has strengthened its presence in the Nordics with a double acquisition valued at an initial £8.1 million. The double deal sees Mitie Group add Danish firm El Team Vest and Norwegian company ABC Elektro.
The acquisitions enhance Mitie Group’s projects and ongoing maintenance capabilities for major tech clients, while significantly strengthening its position across Europe’s fast-growing data centre fire and security systems market.
El Team Vest, which was founded in 2007, is a specialist provider of electrical installations and systems, providing comprehensive electrical contracting solutions, in addition to advanced fire and security services. Post-acquisition, El Team Vest will become Mitie’s local Fire & Security Centre of Excellence.
ABC Elektro is an electrical installation services provider, serving private customers, the business/industrial market and public procurement for both small and large-scale electrical projects.
The two businesses collectively add approximately 100 staff to Mitie, while deepening the group’s presence in a key data centre hub seeing strong AI and machine learning-driven demand.
The acquisitions build on the group’s existing GBE Converge operations and are expected to scale its offering in the Nordic date centre market, supporting hyperscale and colocation customers during a period of rising investment in regional capacity.
Jason Buttle, Mitie Group Managing Director - Fire & Security Projects, commented: "The acquisitions of El Team Vest and ABC Elektro strengthen our ability to deliver complex fire, security and electrical solutions across the Nordics, one of Europe's most important and fast-growing data centre hubs.”
"With Mitie's financial backing and their deep technical expertise, strong local reputations and track records supporting major commercial and technology clients, we expect these businesses to scale up our data centre offering. We look forward to welcoming their highly skilled colleagues to Mitie as we support our hyperscale and colocation customers in meeting the rapidly increasing demand for data centre capacity."
The acquisitions were announced alongside a trading update for the year to March 31 2026. Mitie Group posted record revenues of £5.65 billion, up by 11 per cent from £5.08 billion the previous year. The annual figure reflected organic revenue growth of 6 per cent, as well as a 5 per cent contribution from M&A.
