Two Cornish care homes have been acquired by a newly-established family-owned group. Tregenna House in Camborne and Little Trefewha in the nearby village of Praze-an-Beeble collectively form the tre’Care Group.
The two homes were acquired by former owners, Brian and Donna Craig of tre’Care Group, in the early 1990s. The pair decided to sell after more than 30 years of ownership in order to retire.
Following a confidential sale process with Simon Harvey, Christie & Co Senior Director - Care, the homes have been sold to Care Legacy South West Limited for an undisclosed price.
Care Legacy South West is a newly-established care home business led by husband and wife Cliff and Nasrin Grand-Scrutton. The acquisition of tre’Care Group marks the beginning of the relocation of their business to the South West of England.
Tregenna House provides specialist residential care for up to 49 elderly residents living with mental health conditions and dementia. The home is located in a converted two-storey Victorian building, offering 39 bedrooms, 11 of which have en suite facilities.
Little Trefewha provides residential care for up to 21 elderly residents and is located around three miles from Tregenna House. The care home is a two-storey purpose-built property, with 20 bedrooms, six of which have en suite facilities.
The two homes, which both hold ‘Good’ CQC ratings, are described as being well-regarded within the local area.
Cliff and Nasrin Grand-Scrutton, of Care Legacy South West Ltd, commented: “Having decades of experience in the healthcare industry, we are looking forward to continuing the excellent reputation the tre’Care Group has developed over many years. We will be looking to invest in the homes, with a full commitment to the residents and families who will play an active part in future developments and improvements.”
