Global facilities services group OCS has expanded with the acquisition of nationwide security company City Group Security. The deal strengthens the group’s UK security capabilities, bringing in 600 new staff and increasing its operational presence in London and the South East, complementing its nationwide security offering.
The deal reflects OCS’s ongoing investment in its UK security services, while supporting the group’s broader strategy of building specialist capabilities and developing an integrated facilities management solution.
Founded in 1993, City Group Security is ranked among the UK’s top 30 security businesses. The company provides services including static guarding, canine security, mobile patrols, keyholding and alarm response.
In the year to June 30 2025, City Group Security Limited reported turnover of £34.6 million, up from £27.3 million a year earlier, while operating profit increased from around £636,000 to approximately £1.2 million.
The company's self-delivered canine security offering is seen as a particularly valuable addition for OCS, providing specialist in-house expertise and supporting the future growth of the service for the group’s customers.
City Group Security has experience covering logistics, utilities, education and local government. The company’s utilities footprint strengthens OCS’s offering in the sector, boosting its ability to support customers in critical environments requiring site protection, resilience and operational reliability.
Post-acquisition, the company’s security services will continue uninterrupted, with existing customer contacts, escalation procedures and operational teams remaining unchanged, ensuring continuity of service.
Daniel Dickson, Chief Executive Officer, UK & Ireland, OCS, commented: "City Group Security has built a strong reputation in the security market over more than three decades, supported by experienced colleagues and long-standing customer relationships. Bringing the business into OCS strengthens our security capability and complements the wider integrated facilities management offer we deliver to customers nationwide."
Steven Moore, Managing Director, Security UK, OCS, added: "City Group Security adds scale and density to our security business, particularly across London and the Southeast, and brings specialist capability we know customers value. The self-delivered canine security operation is a meaningful addition, allowing us to grow that service under one team. Greater experience across logistics, local government, education and utilities also strengthens our ability to support customers operating in those sectors."
