Global IT infrastructure installation solutions and services provider Onnec has expanded its datacentre infrastructure management (DCIM) capabilities across the Nordics with the acquisition of Danish firm GI-NetWorks.
The acquisition of the data centre infrastructure services specialist is a strategic move aimed at deepening Onnec’s relationships with key customers and enhancing its ability to deliver a comprehensive data centre offering to new customers across Europe.
The deal was described as significant for Onnec’s wider strategic growth plan, with the addition of GI-NetWorks’ expertise and resources positioning the company to remain a leading player in the Nordic data centre services market.
According to Onnec, the integration of GI-NetWorks’ services into its wider portfolio represents “a significant step” in bolstering its competitive position in the Nordics, bringing a strong customer base and deep DCIM expertise into the group.
These additions are seen as enhancing the company’s managed services capabilities, enabling it to offer an expanded suite of solutions across its wider client network, while delivering greater operational efficiency and value.
Philippe Huinck, CEO of Onnec, commented, “By integrating GI-NetWorks expertise and strong DCIM capabilities into Onnec’s portfolio, we’re not only enhancing our Managed Service offering but also strengthening our ability to deliver exceptional value across the region.”
“This strategic alignment supports our mission of delivering end-to-end infrastructure solutions to a broader client base, while building on the trust and excellence we’re known for.”
Post-acquisition, GI-NetWorks CEO Tonni Eriksen will remain with the business, helping to secure a seamless transition.
Eriksen commented: “This acquisition represents an exciting new chapter for our company. From the beginning, we’ve focused on building a strong team and delivering meaningful value to our customers. Joining forces with Onnec allows us to accelerate our mission, expand our impact, and create even greater opportunities for our employees and partners.”
