Private equity-backed managed IT, cyber resilience and telecoms provider Novem has completed its fifth acquisition with a deal for a counterpart based in the East Midlands. Leicestershire-based Intalect, which was founded in 2004, provides managed IT services, including cybersecurity, disaster recovery and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP).
The acquisition of Intalect expands Manchester-based Novem’s coverage and capabilities. The combination of the two companies adds engineering capacity and specialist expertise, bolstering Novem’s ability to provide broader, end-to-end IT and technology support to UK customers.
According to Novem Chief Executive Alex Heslip (pictured above, right with Intalect director Richard Hamilton), the acquisition of Intalect adds “significant scale to our Midlands credentials, bringing valuable additional skills and strong customer relationships.”
Heslip added: "We're very excited about the opening of our new Midlands Hub office in Coventry, where our people will collaborate and deliver industry leading service from."
Intalect co-founder and director Richard Hamilton said that Novem shared the company’s approach of “providing enterprise-level IT and support to UK SMEs”.
He continued: "Becoming part of the group gives our customers access to an enhanced range of services without losing the quality or care they value. It's a strong platform for the next phase of growth."
Working alongside Independence Capital and UK private credit investor TDC, Novem completed its first acquisition in 2023 and since then has continued to use M&A to expand its regional presence, while investing in skills and infrastructure.
The group’s growth over the past three years has resulted in it expanding to more than 75 staff, supporting over 8,100 people across a number of UK businesses.
Jon Petty, Investment Director at TDC, commented: "Since first supporting Alex and the team in 2023, Novem has continued to build on the growing demand for managed IT services, expanding its national platform all from a Manchester headquarters.”
"This is exactly what we set out to do with our Impact Fund, providing the capital needed for Northern businesses to scale at pace, all while accelerating local opportunity."
