Professional services group acquires strategic advisory firm

Professional services firm AMS Group has acquired strategic advisory provider Verve Co. AMS’s acquisition of the Lancashire-based firm accelerates the launch of its new mid-market consulting operation.

Verve Collaboration Limited, which trades as Verve Co, provides consultancy and non-executive chairman and director services to clients ranging from founder-led businesses to established corporates, across an array of sectors.

The acquisition is described as a major step in AMS’s expansion into mid-market relationship-led consulting. Further senior hires are planned over the coming months as the group builds a consulting division focused on helping businesses to hit their strategic and operational targets.

The new division will also provide outsourced finance services, to help clients streamline internal finance operations, and IT consulting services focused on using technology, systems and AI to improve efficiency and manage risk.

AMS Group, which secured investment from Macquarie Capital earlier this year, provides professional services across a number of sectors, serving owner-managed businesses, high-growth start-ups and established medium-sized businesses.
