Removals firm Sterling Sinclair Removals Group (SSR) has completed its latest acquisition with a deal for an Alloa-based heavy lifting company. The six-figure acquisition of RP HIAB Transport is the fifth acquisition that SSR has completed since it was founded by Adam Sinclair in 2016.
Since founding the company, Sinclair has grown SSR into one of Scotland’s five biggest storage and removals companies. M&A has played a crucial role, with SSR previously acquiring Glen Transport, Britannia Edinburgh, Letford Removals and Larbert Carriers, which it added to a portfolio that already includes Edinburgh Self Store and Stirling Self Storage.
The acquisition of RP HIAB Transport is a strategic move for the company, with the target business being rebranded as HIAB Container Scotland and relocated to Adam Sinclair’s headquarters at Back O’ Hill Road Industrial Estate in Stirling.
Adam Sinclair commented: “A lot of companies transport containers and a lot of companies sell them. But not a lot do both so I feel we are closing a gap in the market by becoming a one-stop shop as it were for haulage and sales.”
“It is going to be a big advantage for the customer to have all this done in-house with no need to have it sub-contracted out – the whole client journey is going to be much more streamlined.”
He continued: “Through my experience in shipping containers, it’s going to be a good solution for many container companies and self-storage buyers. As well as being ideally placed for the port at Grangemouth, we are also not far from the rail freight terminal at Coatbridge and I’m confident there are exciting times ahead for Sterling Sinclair with the HIAB section of the company.”
SSR, which is a member of the British Association of Movers, operates across the UK, for both residential and commercial contracts.
