Northern Ireland-based retail technology company Henderson Technology has announced the acquisition of hospitality point of sale company PowerEPOS. Based in London and Liverpool, PowerEPOS has supplied point of sale and back-office technology to hospitality companies for 38 years.
Following the acquisition, all of the company’s 13 support and install staff at its two premises in England, along with developers in Portugal and Australia, will remain with the business. The deal sees the formation of a new company, Power EPOS Technologies.
Darren Nickels, Retail Technology Operations Director at Henderson Technology, said: “PowerEPOS has a large established and prestigious GB customer base of over 400 clients, including Revolution Bars Group, Handpicked Hotels, Absolute Taste, Blenheim Palace and many more, giving our business the opportunity to expand into the hospitality sector at an established level. Their modern, fully scalable cloud-based solution is in use across the globe and we are excited for the future.”
Nickels added that the new company, Power EPOS Technologies, “will combine each company’s sales power, innovation and strategic direction.”
Henderson Technology Limited, part of the Henderson Group, is regarded as a leading innovator in the Electronic Point of Sale (EPoS) market. It employs 73 staff at its base in Mallusk, supporting a global base of 1,100 customers.
The company provides continuous developments, as well as integrations and partnerships with the EDGEPoS system, one of the world’s most powerful EPoS systems.
In the year to December 31 2024, the company reported turnover of around £12.7 million, up slightly from £12.3 million a year earlier, while increasing operating profits from £1.8 million to £2.1 million.
