A property auctioneer based in the South East of England has joined Eddisons, the property advisory and transactional services business of Begbies Traynor Group, in a deal valued at £1 million. Network Auctions was founded in 2005 and generates annual revenues of around £600,000.
The auctioneer works with banks, asset managers, solicitors, local authorities, receivers, executors and private individual sellers, selling residential and commercial properties from across the UK through monthly online auctions.
Post-acquisition, it will integrate with Eddisons’ existing auction operation, which includes SDL Property Auctions, Mark Jenkinson and Pugh & Co. The deal adds five experienced new team members to Eddisons, including directors Toby Limbrick, Stuart Elliott and Guy Charrison.
Eddisons Managing Partner Anthony Spencer said that the acquisition of Network Auctions would expand the firm’s existing property auctions team, while boosting its coverage across the South East of England.
Andrew Parker, the head of Eddisons’ Property Auctions division added: "Over the past year, we have marketed more than 3,000 properties and plots of land through our auctions, generating over £330m for clients.”
"Bringing Network Auctions into the business, with their established presence in London and the South, allows us to provide even broader national coverage and deliver greater choice and value to both buyers and sellers."
Network Auctions partner Tony Limbrick said that joining Eddisons would provide the company with “a stronger platform for growth and the opportunity to deliver even more for our clients.”
He continued: "We're looking forward to bringing our expertise and energy to a larger national team and continuing to progress the way property auctions are delivered."
The deal continues a period of considerable growth for Eddisons, which last year posted record revenues of over £46 million. The business has grown both organically and through a series of eight strategic M&A deals in the past five years.
