A catering company based in South Wales has been acquired out of administration in a pre-pack deal that secures more than 80 jobs. Just Perfect Catering Limited (JPC) fell into administration earlier this month, with rising costs cited as a definitive factor.
Based in Bridgend, JPC has been operating for close to two decades, establishing itself as one of South Wales’ leading workplace and business & industry (B&I) catering companies.
However, despite previously having traded successfully, the business was impacted recently by the rising costs of food and labour, which pushed it into financial difficulty. It subsequently fell into administration, with Tom Bowes and Martyn Rickels of FRP Advisory appointed as joint administrators on July 20 2026.
On the same day, the joint administrators completed a sale of the business to Cardiff-based contract catering group Cleverchefs Catering in a deal that secures all 86 jobs, ensures uninterrupted services for customers and brings JPC’s longstanding client base into the group.
Cleverchefs Catering serves in excess of 135,000 meals per week across more than 180 sites. The addition of JPC is set to strengthen the company’s commercial catering operations, as well as its education business, while broadening its footprint across Wales and further afield.
Jason Holtom, Chief Executive at Cleverchefs Catering, said: "Every JPC customer keeps the teams and the service they rely on. From here we'll work in partnership with them to understand what they need and build on it.”
"Bringing JPC's clients into the group deepens our commercial offer and sits alongside the education work at the heart of what we do. It's a clear step in expanding the business, and we're glad to have protected 86 jobs in the process."
In accounts for the year to March 31 2024, Just Perfect Catering Limited’s fixed assets were valued at around £402,000 and current assets at £1.5 million, with net assets amounting to slightly over £1 million.
Located in the vibrant area of Llandudno, this boutique wine bar and restaurant offers a unique opportunity with its elegant dining spaces, including an outdoor terrace for al fresco experiences.
