Metalis Engineering Recruitment Limited, a specialist engineering and manufacturing recruitment firm based in Rotherham, has been acquired out of administration in a deal that preserves all jobs at the business.
The company fell into administration earlier this month, with Steve Currie and Sophie Murcott of CY Group appointed as joint administrators on August 3 2026. Following their appointment, the joint administrators secured a pre-pack sale of the business and certain assets to Metalis Recruitment Group Ltd for an undisclosed sum.
Metalis, which was founded in 2019, provided specialist recruitment services to the engineering and manufacturing industries, offering permanent and temporary recruitment solutions to businesses across Yorkshire, the North of England and the Midlands.
The firm had been faced with increasingly challenging trading conditions, amid a slowdown in recruitment activity, as well as growing pressure on margins that contributed to significant cashflow difficulties.
While the management team took steps to cut costs and restructure the firm, its financial position ultimately proved to be unsustainable, with advice subsequently being sought from CY Group.
The sale to Metalis Recruitment Group Ltd secures the future of the business, which will continue trading through the buyer following completion of the sale, as well as safeguarding all six jobs and ensuring the company can continue supporting its customers.
Steven Currie, joint administrator and managing director of CY Group, commented: "Metalis had established a strong position within a specialist recruitment market, but difficult trading conditions and increasing pressure on cash flow had created significant challenges for the business.”

In accounts for the year to May 31 2024, Metalis Engineering Recruitment Limited’s fixed assets were valued at around £44,000 and current assets at close to £408,000, with net assets totalling approximately £415,000.
