A haulage and logistics company has been acquired in a pre-pack deal that saves a number of jobs. UK Drivers & Logistics Solutions Limited fell into administration last month amid an unstable financial position.
The Stoke-on-Trent-based company was placed into administration on March 23 2026, with Steven Currie and Sophie Murcott of Currie Young appointed as administrators.
Shortly after their appointment, the joint administrators completed a sale of the business to R D Transport (Stoke) Limited, a company established in November 2025 that shares a common director with the affected business.
Joint administrator Steven Currie said that a previous director at UK Drivers & Logistics Solutions had passed away in late 2025. He added that the company was in an unstable financial position as a result of “inherited debts and increasing creditor pressure.”
Currie continued: “A pre-packaged sale via an administration process to the newly appointed director was considered to be the best outcome compared to liquidation.”
“The sale to R D Transport (Stoke) Limited was strategically chosen to preserve the value of the business and safeguard the jobs of the workforce. As a result of the sale, customer service has remained largely unaffected.”
As a result of the rapid pre-pack sale, the higher costs typically associated with trading while in administration, as well as complications linked to transport licences, were avoided.
In addition to securing the transfer of the workforce to the buyer, the deal has also provided continuity to UK Drivers & Logistics Solutions’ customers. As a result, the joint administrators anticipate that the company’s secured creditor will be fully repaid.
In accounts for the period to February 28 2024, during which time UK Drivers & Logistics Solutions employed an average of 5 employees, the company’s fixed assets were valued at around £301,000 and current assets at approximately £253,000, with total assets amounting to slightly under £396,000.
