Qflow, a Swedish engineering and construction consultancy group comprising 40 businesses, has entered the UK market with a trio of acquisitions. The group’s launch in the UK was supported by professional services group Knights.
The move sees Qflow acquire transport planning and highway design consultancy Caneparo Associates, highway design and sustainable infrastructure firm EAS Transport Planning and programme management and risk advisory consultancy Blueprint Project Solutions Ltd.
London-headquartered Caneparo Associates is a transport planning and highway design specialist with extensive experience working on large and complex urban development schemes. The company’s services cover the entire planning and delivery process, from early feasibility studies to statutory processes, highway design and transport assessments.
Hertfordshire-based EAS Transport Planning, a technical consulting company, specialises in transport planning, sustainable infrastructure and highway design, working with both public and private sector clients on infrastructure project planning and development.
Gloucestershire-based Blueprint Project Solutions provides clients in the infrastructure, energy, nuclear and defence sectors with project controls, programme management and risk advisory services.
Qflow Head of M&A Alexander Weiss Montan said that the triple deal represented “a significant milestone for us, not only by establishing a presence in the United Kingdom, but also alongside our strategic ambition to build a leading European specialist consultancy.”
Montan added that each business brought individual strengths into the group, while all having “a strong reputation, talented teams and deep client relationships alongside close alignment with our wider growth strategy.”
He continued: "We look forward to growing and developing together and to further strengthening our platform in the UK as we continue to build a leading specialist consulting group in infrastructure and the built environment."
Qflow was advised on the acquisitions by a specialist, multi-disciplinary team at Knights, led by corporate partner Gareth Burge.
Burge said: "The addition of these three businesses and their talented team to Qflow adds a breadth of specialist consultancy services that further build upon the capability to the group's customer proposition.”
