National accountancy and business advisory firm TC Group has joined forces with a longstanding Dundee-based counterpart in its latest merger. Founded in 1927, MMG Chartered Accountants has seven locations across Scotland.
MMG Chartered Accountants specialises in accountancy, advisory and wealth management solutions for businesses and individuals and has offices in Dundee, Perth, Montrose, Forfar, Crieff, Brechin and Blairgowrie.
The merger sees the firm bolster TC Group’s growing in-house team of business advisers, accountants, financial planners, tax specialists and lawyers. The deal comes just a few weeks after TC Group’s recent merger with West Midlands-based firm BSN Associates.
MMG Chartered Accountants partner Paul Crichton said that joining TC Group represented “a natural and exciting evolution of our firm's growth journey across Perthshire, Angus and Dundee.”
He continued: "By merging our local expertise with a national Top 18 firm, we are creating a wealth of new opportunities for our current and future staff to develop their careers within a diverse and supportive environment right here in the region."
Crichton said that a crucial aspect of the deal was that it would significantly enhance the firm’s client offering, with clients continuing to retain their local, trusted, partner-led relationships, but now backed by “a much broader range of specialist services and technical resources.”
He added: "This partnership ensures we remain a leading choice for businesses across the Tayside, North Fife and beyond, perfectly positioned to support our clients' most ambitious goals with both local insight and national scale."
TC Group Chief Growth Officer Shiv Shah said that MMG Chartered Accountants’ client care, quality of service and staff meant that the firm was a strong fit for the group.
Shah continued: "MMG's clients can continue to expect the same relationship-led services they've come to value, with the opportunity to tap into other expertise and capabilities across TC Group.”
