Independent training provider Inspiro Learning has completed its first acquisition since securing backing from Beech Tree Private Equity earlier this year. Doncaster-based Inspiro partners with brands including JLR, Volkswagen, Network Rail, Sainsbury’s and BMW, providing vocational and technical training.
Having secured backing from Beech Tree, the company has now moved to acquire Nottingham-based counterpart Remit Training. One of the UK’s largest training providers, Remit Training offers a range of nationally recognised qualifications across sectors including healthcare, hospitality, IT, business and automotive.
Inspiro Learning Chief Executive Stuart Wilson said that Remit has “an excellent reputation for high quality training delivery and building long term relationships with an impressive customer base.”
He added that “clear strategic alignment with Inspiro makes for an exciting combination of the businesses to bring shared best practice to even more learners.”
Andy Marsh of Beech Tree Private Equity commented: "Strategic acquisitions were a key part of our investment in Inspiro, enabling expansion into other sectors and continuing the momentum of the business. The shared focus of Remit on high quality support to learners meant this was a natural combination with Inspiro.”
Remit Training Chief Executive Sue Pittock OBE said that Inspiro Learning’s “strong focus on outcomes for learners and high-quality delivery” made it an ideal owner for Remit to continue its journey with.
Beech Tree Private Equity acquired a majority stake in Inspiro Learning from Insprit Capital in September 2025. Insprit Capital, which remains a minority shareholder in the company, originally acquired Inspiro in a corporate carve-out from Babcock International in February 2023.
Since then, the company has undergone significant growth, strengthening its reputation as a provider of vocational and technical training and working with a number of leading brands from an array of sectors.
In accounts for the year to March 31 2025, Inspiro Learning Limited reported turnover of approximately £47.9 million, up from around £44.5 million a year earlier, while more than doubling its operating profit from just under £2.2 million to over £4.4 million.
