An East Midlands-based vehicle hire business has been acquired out of administration in a deal that secures close to 50 jobs. Loughborough-based Reflex Vehicle Hire Limited, which specialises in the hire of light commercial vans, crew vans, executive cars and EV-ready options, has been acquired by Reflex Fleet Solutions Limited.
The company fell into administration on December 23 2025, with Chris Petts and Jon Roden of Grant Thornton appointed as joint administrators. Following their appointment, the joint administrators secured a sale of the business and assets as a going concern to Reflex Fleet Solutions.
The acquisition ensures that all 46 jobs are retained at the firm, while its jobs and operations will continue from the company's head office and main trading premises in Loughborough.
In a statement, the director of Reflex Fleet Solutions said that the deal had secured “a robust capital foundation and establishes a clear platform for sustainable growth”, adding that the business was “well-positioned to make targeted investments in fleet and systems."
Joint administrator Chris Petts commented: "We are very pleased to have completed a going concern sale of the business, which secures the continued employment of a loyal and skilled workforce in these challenging economic times, particularly for the commercial fleet hire sector.”
"Reflex Fleet Solutions Limited supported by its new funding partner is well-placed to support the development of the business and continue to serve its long-standing commercial customers in the future."
In the year ending December 31 2023, Reflex Vehicle Hire Limited reported turnover of £56.1 million, up from around £51.9 million the previous year, but saw its operating profits dip from £5.5 million to approximately £4.6 million.
At the time, the company’s fixed assets were valued at £69.1 million, while net assets amounted to around £8.8 million.
