Major nationwide building compliance provider Ventro Group has expanded with the acquisition of a longstanding electrical, security, fire safety and building refurbishment company based in Birmingham.
Harrold-Jones Services (HJS), which was founded in 1979, has established itself as a prominent operator in the Midlands, providing innovative building compliance services that have a particular focus on electrical and security.
The company has worked with clients including Rolls-Royce, NFU Mutual, Willmott Dixon, Kier, local authorities and NHS trusts. The acquisition builds on Plymouth-based Ventro Group’s strong existing offering, which spans fire compliance, electrical and security services.
Harvey Melvin, Chief Executive of Ventro Group, said: "This is a strategic acquisition for Ventro Group to expand on our existing electrical and security offering, further improving our industry leading expertise and experience.”
"HJS' commitment to quality means we can deliver even greater value to our clients, helping us achieve our goal of becoming the UK's leading and most trusted building compliance partner."
Brian Rowley, Managing Director of HJS added: “We Know that with Ventro our customers will benefit from the continuity of our dedicated team but also from Ventro’s extensive expertise, innovative systems and processes, and full suite of compliance services.”
He continued: “This partnership ensures our customers and staff can rely on a company capable of supporting their needs today and beyond.”
Post-acquisition, HJS’s team and operations will remain in place, ensuring continuity for the company’s clients.
In accounts for the year to July 31 2024, Allhands Limited, trading as HJS, reported turnover of around £12.2 million, up from £11.3 million a year earlier, and operating profits of approximately £757,000 (£964,000 in 2023).
