Beacon Park Boats, a Welsh Valleys-based leisure boating business, has been acquired out of administration in a deal that safeguards 30 jobs. The company, which is based in Llangattock, South Wales, is a luxury canal boat holiday provider operating on the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal.
The firm has a fleet of more than 20 boats and delivers hundreds of holidays each summer. Following challenging trading during the COVID-19 pandemic and a long recovery, however, the company was left with significant debts.
As a result, it turned to PKF Littlejohn Advisory in late 2025, with the PKF team exploring a number of avenues, including a potential Time To Pay arrangement with HMRC and additional external funding, but none proved to be viable options.
The company was subsequently placed into administration, with PKF Littlejohn partners Oliver Collinge and Paul Williams appointed as joint administrators.
Following a brief period of trading while in administration, during which time the joint administrators sought additional funding to enable continued trading, all summer holidays were honoured, with the firm’s team remaining fully employed during one of the year’s busiest seasons.
In August, the joint administrators secured a sale of the business out of administration to Timeout Escapes Limited.
Paul Reeves, partner at PKF Littlejohn Advisory UK LLP, said: "Beacon Park Boats has an incredible heritage and a unique offer to holidaymakers wanting to explore the beautiful Welsh valleys.”
"While the business had struggled in the years following Covid, its fundamentals were very strong and we had confidence that it could thrive given the opportunity.”
"We are pleased for its loyal customers and staff that we were able to safeguard the company’s future. Businesses like Beacon Park Boats are all about people, and that was something we kept in mind throughout the process.”
In accounts for the year to October 31 2024, the company’s fixed assets were valued at around £1.9 million and current assets at slightly over £140,000, while net liabilities stood at approximately £423,000.
