Micheldever Tyre Services (MTS), an auto services garages operator, has added 11 sites in the North East of England, as well as a County Durham distribution facility, with the acquisition of Tyre Spot.
Following the acquisition, Tyre Spot’s 11 retail centres will be rebranded under Protyre Autocare, the retail arm of MTS, while Micheldever will operate the distribution site. Micheldever’s retail division consists of 185 fast fit and mechanical services sites nationwide.
Graham Mitchell, Chief Executive of MTS, commented: “This acquisition strengthens our presence in a region where we already have established sites and customers, building further scale and capability while enhancing both our retail network and logistics infrastructure.”
"It is a significant step forward in delivering on our growth strategy and reinforces our position as the UK's leading tyre distribution and retail platform.”
Mitchell added that the combination of MTS’s national reach, scale and infrastructure with the local presence and reputation of Tyre Spot would bolster the company’s ability to provide consistent and effective services across the UK.
Post-acquisition, MTS Chief Commercial Officer Tom Carver said that the company would focus on undertaking a smooth, well-managed integration for colleagues, partners and customers.
Carver continued: "This acquisition supports our ambition to grow our retail network to 350 centres nationally by 2030, strengthening our national coverage while deepening our local capability.”
"Just as importantly, Tyre Spot shares our strong customer-first culture and focus on service quality, making it a natural fit for us. We are bringing our teams together, recognising talented colleagues, established operations and strong customer relationships.”
Tyre Spot Managing Director Johnathon Shaw said that the company had established itself as the North East’s largest independent tyre supplier over the past 50 years, adding that MTS shared the same values and customer-centric approach.
