A large hotel in Bournemouth town centre, with extensive wedding and conference facilities, that dates back to the early 1800s has been brought to market with an asking price of around £5.7 million. The Durley Dean Hotel on West Cliff Road comprises 112 en-suite bedrooms and also features a 180-cover open-plan restaurant and 42-cover bar and lounge.
Originally constructed in around 1800 as a number of terraced houses and hotels, the building has, over time, been amalgamated into a single hotel. Over the past seven years, the hotel has undergone a full refurbishment and is ready for an established hotel operator to take over the highly profitable business.
The hotel features extensive function facilities, including five suites for weddings, conferences and events, a spa with a heated indoor pool and fitness gym. It attracts a mix of both leisure and business guests, with significant potential for the new owner to further develop its corporate income and wedding business.
The Durley Dean Hotel has been brought to market by specialist property advisor Christie & Co, with an asking price of £5.75 million for the freehold. The sale process is being handled by Ed Bellfield, Christie & Co Regional Director - Hotels.
Ed Bellfield commented: “The sale of the Durley Dean Hotel presents a unique chance to acquire a prestigious property close to Bournemouth beach front.”
“This well-established venue offers significant potential for growth, with opportunities to expand its function business, enhance corporate accommodation offerings, and tap into the rising demand for leisure stays during weekends and holiday periods.”
