Cricklade House Hotel & Spa, a prestigious country house hotel and spa on the edge of the Cotswolds, has been put up for sale for £3.5 million. The luxury spa hotel is located to the west of Cricklade in Wiltshire.
Christie & Co have been engaged to manage the sale of the hotel, which has been put on the market with a guide price of £3.5 million for the freehold/long leasehold interest.
There are 45 en-suite guest bedrooms in the main hotel and courtyard rooms. The hotel includes the full-service Fritillary Spa offering a heated indoor swimming pool, spa bath, sauna, steam room and five treatment rooms.
Additional leisure facilities include external tennis and Pétanque courts, a nine-hole foot golf course and an 18-hole disc golf course. The hotel also features a popular restaurant, the Terrace Bar and an al-fresco dining terrace.
Cricklade House Hotel & Spa is home to two extensive function facilities, including a dedicated event space which can accommodate up to 120 guests. The site is well suited to weddings, corporate functions and private events and attracts strong repeat business from leisure, corporate, and event guests, both domestic and international.
The hotel has operated successfully for many years and is said to offer significant value-add opportunities for new owners, with the opportunity to capitalise on its prime location.
Steve Young, Chief Executive of Purico Group, the hotel’s major shareholder, said that the hotel’s physical structure and bedrooms have recently been improved and upgraded, resulting in higher customer satisfaction, with the hotel said to be outperforming local peers.
Young continued: “As such, after around eight years of ownership, it is time for us to pass on the hotel to new owners and for us to re-invest in other projects, as we leave the hotel in the best shape it has been for decades.”
