A first-time buyer has swooped for a corporate pharmacy in Warwick, following a sale process that attracted significant interest. The acquisition of the Day Lewis Pharmacy on the outskirts of the town was brokered by Christie & Co.
The pharmacy has been acquired by first-time buyer Mohammed Noor for an undisclosed price. The site, which dispenses an average of 5,500 items per month, is located in a residential suburb on the outskirts of Warwick and benefits from sitting adjacent to Chase Meadow Health Centre in a busy mixed-use retail parade.
The acquisition comes after a confidential sales process run by Carl Steer of Christie & Co. Funding for the deal was sourced through Craig Dickson at Christie Finance.
Commenting on the sale process, Carl Steer, Director – Pharmacy at Christie & Co, said that the firm had received a dozen offers on the pharmacy, with a sale ultimately being agreed above the guide price within 16 weeks.
Steer added that Christie & Co had received “countless enquiries” during the sale process, demonstrating “the scarcity of opportunities in the area and the current strength of the market.”
Christie Finance Director Craig Dickson said that the funding package for the deal “was provided by a lender experienced in the sector who was keen to support first-time buyers.”
He continued: “Mohammed qualified 12 years ago and has previously worked for both small and large multiple operators; however, he had been looking to acquire a pharmacy for some time and viewed the Day Lewis in Warwick as an ideal opportunity for him moving forward, where he can add value. Mohammed is also an Independent Prescriber and is looking forward to serving the local community.”
