RAD Hotel Group has continued its expansion in Scotland with the acquisition of a five-star hotel and spa in Ayrshire. Lochgreen House Hotel & Spa in Troon becomes the family-run group’s first five-star property and strengthens its position in Scotland’s luxury hospitality, wedding and dining markets.
Originally built as a private mansion in the early 19th century, Lochgreen House Hotel & Spa has become renowned for its accommodation, luxury spa and wedding offering. The hotel is described as having established an international reputation among visitors to Ayrshire’s famous golfing coastline.
RAD Hotel Group has now acquired the site after reaching an agreement with hotelier Bill Costley, whose stewardship has helped to establish Lochgreen's standing as one of the top hotels and wedding venues in Scotland.
The group says it plans to preserve many of the hotel’s historic features and incorporate its history into future interior design and guest spaces, as it seeks to honour Lochgreen’s legacy and Bill Costley’s contribution to the Ayrshire hospitality industry.

The acquisition follows the addition of a number of landmark Scottish hotels to RAD Hotel Group’s portfolio over recent years, including Seamill Hydro and Brig o' Doon House Hotel, which was also acquired from Bill Costley, as well as the acquisition of the Seamill House Hotel in West Kilbride earlier this month.
The group has confirmed that the hotel's operations will continue as normal during the transition, in order to ensure that guests, event organisers and wedding couples experience no disruption.
