North Yorkshire-based hospitality group Provenance Collection has sold three venues from its portfolio as it seeks to focus on other sites. The company has completed the sale of The Black Bull at Moulton, The Punch Bowl at Marton-cum-Grafton and The Cleveland Tontine near Northallerton.
Describing the move as “a positive and deliberate repositioning”, the group said the sale will enable it to focus its investment, operational attention and future growth plans on its strongest-performing core venues across the region.
The company, which previously traded as Provenance Inns & Hotels, continues to operate six premium pubs, hotels and restaurants in North Yorkshire. The company’s remaining portfolio includes: The Carpenters Arms, Felixkirk; West Acre Lodge, Boltby; Oak Tree, Helperby; Crown & Cushion, Welburn; Coach & Horses, Harrogate; and West Park Hotel, Harrogate.
After completing the sale, Provenance Collection plans to invest across its remaining venues, targeting ongoing improvements to its guest experiences, accommodation, food and drink offerings and operational standards.
The sale announcement came alongside an update on the group’s Managing Director Peter Grazier, who is receiving treatment for Leukaemia and responding positively.
Former Hotel Commercial Manager Anthony Blundell, who has been with the group for seven years, has formally assumed the role of Managing Director.
Discussing the sale of the three venues, Blundell commented: “This is a hugely important and positive step forward for Provenance Collection. By refining our portfolio, we are now able to focus our efforts and investment on the sites which best represent the future vision of the business, whilst continuing to improve them as exceptional places to visit, stay and work.”
In the year to August 24 2025, Provenance Inns Limited, trading as Provenance Collection, reported turnover of £3.9 million, roughly level with the previous year, while cutting its operating losses from around £717,000 to slightly under £675,000.
