Various Eateries, the listed operator behind the Coppa Club and Noci restaurant brands, is set to launch a new pub line after agreeing terms to acquire four sites, with the deals expected to complete later this month.
The London-based firm has agreed to acquire the sites from Grosvenor Pubs and Inns for £11.25 million. The acquisitions would create a third operating brand, The Linwood Collection, under the new Coppa Collective umbrella.
The four venues are Wild Thyme & Honey in Gloucestershire, The Hare & Hounds in Berkshire, The Stag on the River in Surrey and The Wellington Arms in Hampshire. Talks are also underway regarding the potential exchange of a fifth site, The Queen’s Head in Surrey.
Four of the sites are freehold, while The Wellington Arms is on a long leasehold, with the acquisition of the pub subject to landlord consent. Post-acquisition, the pubs would continue trading under their existing names and identities.
Describing The Linwood Collection as “an important step in the evolution of the group”, Various Eateries Chief Executive Mark Loughborough commented: "We are bringing into the business a small collection of premium pubs with rooms that have earned their reputations the right way, through great hospitality, careful attention to detail, and a real sense of place.”
He continued: "Premium pubs with rooms combine food and drink with accommodation and a broader, destination-led appeal. Done well, that mix can deliver resilience and attractive economics, and we believe these sites have the quality to do exactly that.”
"This acquisition is fully aligned with the approach we set out at our full-year results. We are building momentum, we have a clearer playbook, and we are ready to act when high-quality opportunities arise on the right terms.”
In the year to September 28 2025, Various Eateries plc reported turnover of around £52.4 million, up from £49.5 million a year earlier, while cutting its operating losses from £928,000 to £785,000.
