Minster Law, a specialist personal injury law firm based in Wakefield, has acquired the personal injury business of a counterpart. The acquisition of ARAG Law’s personal injury team, along with its active caseload, builds on a long-standing relationship between the two companies.
The deal establishes Minster Law’s new office in the centre of Bristol, continuing the firm’s strategy of expanding its footprint of regional offices and building on the opening of its London office earlier this year.
The acquisition is the second significant deal of its kind that Minster Law has completed in recent years, following the firm’s 2022 takeover of Irwin Mitchell’s high-volume personal injury business.
Minster Law Chief Executive Shirley Woolham described the acquisition as “another deliberate step in our long-term growth strategy”, adding that the deal “reflects our confidence in the future of specialist personal injury legal services.”
Woolham continued: "The personal injury market has changed fundamentally over recent years. What was once viewed as a relatively standard legal service has become an increasingly specialist discipline, requiring sustained investment in legal expertise, technology, operational capability and the ability to deliver consistently high-quality outcomes at scale.”
"As organisations continue to assess where that capability is best delivered, we're seeing specialist personal injury firms like Minster playing an increasingly important role. That's not because personal injury has become less important, but because it has become more specialised."
Mike Low, ARAG Law Director of Law, said that the acquisition was “an excellent deal” for both firms, “furthering Minster Law's strategic expansion into delivering specialist personal injury services and providing continuity for ARAG Law's clients, colleagues and business partners.”
Low added: "We're confident that the transfer of any ongoing claims will be seamless and, in establishing a regional office very close to ARAG Law's Bristol HQ, Minster offers the best new home for the team."
Following consultation, the entirety of ARAG Law’s personal injury team will transfer to Minster Law’s established personal injury operation at a new company office in central Bristol.
