Roofclad Systems has merged with Profile Industrial Roofing in a deal that creates an industrial and commercial roofing group with turnover of more than £20 million and a footprint of five UK offices.
Roofclad Systems, which was founded more than 47 years ago, has offices in Newcastle, Leeds, Warrington and Reading. The company supports clients across sectors including manufacturing, logistics, retail, warehousing and storage, education and defence.
In order to strengthen its geographical reach and service offering, the firm has merged with Midlands-based Profile Industrial Roofing, which was founded in 1996. Following the merger, Profile Industrial Roofing has rebranded as Roofclad Systems.
The combined group will operate from five UK locations, including a new head office in Lichfield, Staffordshire which was purchased earlier this year by Profile Industrial Roofing in order to double its existing space and support its growth. The site is set to be operational by January 2026, following a comprehensive fit-out.
Post-merger, Profile Industrial Roofing Managing Director David Clark will co-lead the company alongside Roofclad Systems Managing Director Alex Tilley. The group will directly employ 60 staff, supported by at least 20 roofing subcontractors.
Alex Tilley said that the merger was “a natural progression for two established contractors with complementary strengths.”
He continued: "By combining our skills and resources, we can amplify what we do best while driving operational efficiencies. This strategy will ensure we're robustly positioned in a market where scale and integrated solutions are increasingly valued."
David Clarke added: "Both businesses are on strong growth trajectories, so now is the perfect time for us to join forces. Through five regional hubs, our clients will benefit from nationwide coverage, faster response times, and a wider range of services, including energy-efficient roofing systems and solar technology. We also plan to create new roles, particularly in project management and technical services."
During a merger or acquisition, ensuring a strong cultural fit is just as important as strategic and financial considerations
