A pair of IT companies based in the Midlands have merged, with the combined business aiming to grow its regional presence through additional acquisitions. Stafford-based Simplex IT Solutions has joined forces with Wellingborough firm Dragon Information Systems to form Dragon Technology Group.
The newly formed group brings together more than 40 years of experience across managed IT services, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, with a customer base that spans the Midlands and South East England.
The merger forms part of a long-term strategy aimed at expanding the combined business’ suite of managed IT, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity services. This strategy will also encompass regional expansion through M&A activity.
Post-merger, all employees across the businesses will be retained, while Lionel Naidoo, founder of Dragon Information Systems, will take on the role of Chief Executive at Dragon Technology Group. The new leadership team will also consist of Chief Revenue Officer Andrew Glyn-Mills and Chief Technology Officer Craig Joyner.
Following the merger, Dragon Technology Group has said it plans to grow the business, while maintaining company culture and existing customer relationships.
