Two Scottish law firms have completed a merger that creates a combined business with a significantly expanded Glasgow operation. Lindsays’ merger with Glasgow-based Dallas McMillan, which was originally announced in June, is the firm’s fourth in 11 years.
Dallas McMillan will bring more than 40 new staff into Lindsays, taking the team at the partnership’s Glasgow city centre offices from 80 to more than 120. Across its wider network of offices, including locations in Edinburgh, Dundee, Perth and Crieff, its headcount now exceeds 420 people.
The deal is Lindsays’ first merger to have been overseen by Andrew Diamond, who joined the company as Managing Partner in October 2025. Diamond said that the merger “marks the beginning of another exciting chapter for our firm and its journey of steady, sustainable growth.”
He continued: "We have for some time been seeking the ideal fit through which to expand our presence in Glasgow and are delighted to have secured that through this merger. Everyone is very much looking forward to working with new colleagues and new clients, who will benefit from the broader range of services that the enlarged firm offers."
David McElroy, previously Managing Partner at Dallas McMillan and now a partner at Lindsays, added: "Working towards this date, it has been abundantly clear to us that becoming part of Lindsays is what's best for the team from Dallas McMillan and, critically, also our clients.”
"This is a merger which offers real opportunities for growth, both through the services we can provide to clients and for colleagues as part of a firm which puts people first and has a genuinely supportive culture."
The deal represents a significant expansion for Lindsays in Glasgow, which it first entered in 2008 through a merger with the former firm Kidstons.
